MAFIA: The New Twisted Psychological Thriller releasing on ZEE5
ZEE5 is already leading the OTT platforms because it has many interesting web series and exciting upcoming shows lined up for its audience. I just finished watching Laal Bazaar and Siege of Stage 26/11 and now waiting for another original murder mystery thriller drama movie “Mafia”, which is based on the popular household board game Mafia. Since the lockdown, ZEE5 has launched many web series in Hindi, movies and many shows for kids too to keep the little ones busy.
Mafia, the psychological thriller directed by Birsa Dasgupta, is the latest ZEE5 Original series and is all ready to shake up our worlds on 10 th July.
Mafia: The Murder Mystery Trailer
The catchy teaser of ‘Mafia’ starts with a hiss of the forest in the background and then shows the shot of a cottage. The psychological thriller story is of the jungles of Jharkhand, which sets the correct mood for a suspense thriller. The story revolves around a reunion of six old college friends who are meeting after an unprecedented gap of 5 years for Tanya’s bachelor party. These six friends were really close before a horrifying incident tore them apart. The friends were having fun and intimate moments but also have stories of past betrayals and hatred amongst them.
The group decides to play the game of Mafia but turns out that their own secrets are in danger of being revealed. And this fun game of reunion turns out to be their worst nightmare. The game instead of bonding them together again brings the worst out of them and provokes them to act on their hidden agenda. The trailer is full of twists, murders, drugs and also points to the sinister forces at play.

The show features Namit Das as Nitin, Tanmay Dhanania as Rishi, Isha M Saha as Ananya, Anindita Bose as Neha and Madhurima Roy as Tanya in pivotal roles. The cast is exciting just like it’s plot. Namit Das who plays the character of Nitin expresses, “I absolutely loved the setting of the cottage for the shoot, it felt like a perfect reunion spot. This is one of the most unique projects I have worked on. I can’t imagine how a household game could even turn someone’s life into a gamble like this! Mafia is thrilling and with every episode, a new mystery will be solved. The rules will be broken for sure, so viewers should gear up for one hell of a rollercoaster ride.” Well, these words of Namit surely set the expectation high and promises to keep the audience hooked.
