Everything looks so smooth and ear warming until the real preparation comes into play. Moong dal halwa sound too yummy but the preparation is time consuming and definitely qualifies for good arm workout :P. Making mung dal ka halwa at home is a real nightmare for all those lazy dessert lovers.
But worry not, today I’ll show you a quick recipe of Moong Dal Halwa that can actually, enhance your love for this dessert. This Moong Dal ka Halwa recipe will not only save time but you won’t go back to the traditional preparation method.

1. It’s actually the roasting time and efficiency that determines the color of your Moong dal halwa, although, you can always add artificial color to it.
2. You are free to add mawa while preparing the halwa as well. It can go with the milk itself while preparation.
3. Quantity of sugar, dry fruits, ghee, etc. depends on the personal taste of different

- The very first step initiates with roasting the dal. The moong dal should be roasted until it turns golden brown. When done, set the dal aside.
- On the other hand, we shall chop our dry fruits to roast them in desi ghee.
- Once the dal is at room temperature, we can continue with grinding the dal, coarsely, in a grinder
- and again let the dal rest on a plate.
- Now, put 3-4 tablespoons of ghee in a preheated pan followed by the ground dal. Roast it until it becomes golden brown. Once t the desired color is achieved, we’ll add milk to it and stir it to prevent any lumps.
- Cook it until the density increases. Add one cup of water to it and again let it sauté.
- The Moong Dal halwa will retain its density and now, it’s the perfect time to suspend sugar to it and stir the halwa properly. Cook it for a while and then add dry fruits with some cardamom powder.
- Let it cook until the desired consistency, when done, we are ready to have our Instant and yummy Moong dal Halwa.
